This past month has been some of the best March fishing that i can rememeber. With day time temps in the 80s the watesr have warmed and stayed warm. We have been catching a large variety of different fish. Inshore species include some very nice size Redfish and Sea trout. Both species have been in the 18"-25" range. Also among the inshore species have been flounder, pompano, and black drum. I have started to see some smaller snook show up recently which is a very welcomed site after losing so many larger fish 2 years ago. The bait of choice has been live shrimp and Berkely Gulp. Color and types have been dependent on water clarity. I expect the fishing to only improve as April progresses.
Offshore the cobia bite has been hot also. We have been using live pilchards as bait for them. I have started to see a few permit showing up in the area latley so it shouldn't be long before the bigger schools move in. The winds should start to ease up soon and the offshore bite should get Redhot.
