Lets Go Fishing!

March went out with a Bang! - Sunday, April 01, 2012

This past month has been some of the best March fishing that i can rememeber. With day time temps in the 80s the watesr have warmed and stayed warm. We have been catching a large variety of different fish. Inshore species include some very nice size Redfish and Sea trout. Both species have been in the 18"-25" range. Also among the inshore species have been flounder, pompano, and black drum. I have started to see some smaller snook show up recently which is a very welcomed site after losing so many larger fish 2 years ago. The bait of choice has been live shrimp and Berkely Gulp. Color and types have been dependent on water clarity. I expect the fishing to only improve as April progresses.

Offshore the cobia bite has been hot also. We have been using live pilchards as bait for them. I have started to see a few permit showing up in the area latley so it shouldn't be long before the bigger schools move in. The winds should start to ease up soon and the offshore bite should get Redhot.

What a week this has been! Warm weather and Hot fishing! - Sunday, March 04, 2012

The redfish bite is still the hottest and most dependable bite. We have managed to catch our limit on every trip this week.  Highlight of the week was a 29" Red and a 28" Snook. Both of which were released to live another day. Most of the Redfish are running in the low 20's this past week. We are still using bucktail jigs and shrimp under popping corks for baits.

Water temps are still in the upper 70's which should keep the bite steady. Some TripleTail have started to show up offshore this past week. Cobia are also making a presence offshore. For anyone interersted in Permit fishing i expect these fish to show up around Mid April. I also expect to see some Tarpon moving into the area around the same time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                       To see some of the most recent pics click the following link.  http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.102649773102074.6099.100000711548352&type=3

The Bite is as Hot as the Weather! - Wednesday, February 29, 2012

This past week the bite has been as hot as the weather. The daily catches have consisted of Redfish to 28", Speckled Sea Trout to 22" and Black drum to 26". On Teusday we caught a limit of all three species on a full day trip. Wow what a day!

We have been fishing with bucktail jigs tipped with shrimp and shrimp under a popping cork. The afternoon bite as been the best bite times due to the late afternoon incoming tides.

I predict the fishing to steadily improve between fronts as the water temps continue to warm up. I also expect to see Tripletail to start to show up within the next couple of weeks.
